Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit this website, contact me, or use my psychotherapy, clinical supervision, or educational services.
Information you provide
When you contact me, I may collect your name, contact details, and information you choose to share. I use this information to respond to inquiries, arrange consultations or appointments, and provide requested services.
Please share only the information needed for your initial inquiry. Avoid including sensitive health information in public website forms, ordinary email, course platforms, or payment descriptions.
Psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and confidentiality
I manage personal health information in accordance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA), applicable professional requirements, and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), where applicable.
Before beginning services, we will review informed consent, communication preferences, record management, and the limits of confidentiality. Information may be disclosed with your consent or where permitted or required by law.
Protection and storage of clinical records
Psychotherapy and clinical supervision records maintained in my practice are stored securely in Jane App, separately from my public website and course platforms. These records are encrypted during transmission and storage. Jane identifies its Canadian server locations as Montréal, Quebec, and Calgary, Alberta.
My website hosting providers—WordPress, Squarespace, and Sites—and my course platform, Thinkific, are not provided with access to these clinical records. Payment providers, including Stripe, receive information necessary for invoicing and payment processing, but are not provided with clinical notes or the contents of psychotherapy or supervision records.
Jane App processes clinical information on my behalf to provide electronic record storage and practice management services. Access is restricted to authorized purposes and subject to applicable privacy and security safeguards.
Service providers
- WordPress, Squarespace, and Sites: Website hosting and related website functions.
- Jane App: Electronic health records, appointment booking, invoicing, and payment receipts for psychotherapy services.
- Stripe: Invoicing and payment processing.
- Thinkific: Course delivery, registration, and related administration.
Depending on the service you use, these providers may process the personal, registration, billing, or payment information needed to perform their services. Jane App also processes clinical information as described above.
Some nonclinical service providers may process or store information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of another jurisdiction. Please contact me with questions about a provider’s role or privacy practices.
Website technology and cookies
Depending on the features enabled, this website and its providers may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited. Cookies and similar technologies may support website functions, security, and analytics.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, the website’s cookie preferences. Disabling some cookies may affect website functionality.
Email and website communication
Email and website communications carry privacy and security risks. Please contact me to arrange an appropriate way to exchange sensitive information.
Sending an inquiry does not establish a therapeutic relationship. This website and its contact channels are not monitored continuously and should not be used for urgent or emergency support.
Safeguarding and retaining information
I take reasonable steps to protect information in my custody or control against unauthorized access, loss, use, or disclosure. No electronic system can guarantee complete security.
Information is retained according to its purpose and applicable legal and professional requirements, then securely destroyed when appropriate.
Your privacy choices and rights
You may contact me to ask about my privacy practices, request access to or correction of your personal information, or discuss withdrawing consent. Legal exceptions and record-retention obligations may apply.
If you receive optional promotional communications, you may unsubscribe at any time.
