Psychotherapy for Healthcare Providers, Therapy for Therapists

I know it’s hard to ask for help!

I remember the days of aimlessly scrolling through Psychology Today ads and visiting therapists’ websites. It was so hard to trust that someone would truly understand how hard it was for me. I might have looked like I had it all together, but I was drowning on the inside. I was exhausted and deeply frustrated by those who have tried to help me. I was also harmed within the context of receiving what was supposed to be support. The costs were too high to ask for help. Surely I could just smile and hold it all in? I could just keep going?

Your time is valuable. The investment risk in asking for help seems too large at times, and I don’t just mean financially. It’s challenging to trust another person with your most intimate feelings. You may have had a great childhood and feel you have no reason to be so messed up. You work in a field with a culture that says that if you can’t hack it, then you shouldn’t be here…

Finding a therapist is hard. That’s why the first consultation is always free…

Healthcare providers need support. You may not be a ‘wounded healer,’ but you are definitely dealing with systems. You are overworked and under-cared for. I get it because I’ve lived it and worked among you. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work alongside nurses, doctors, pharmacists and other healthcare providers.
